Alice Walsh

Passed peacefully away into the arms of God at the Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear, Alice Marie Walsh of Bay de Verde, aged 93 years. Predeceased by husband, William; parents, Margaret and Andrew Riggs; brothers: Paul, Thomas, Daniel and Cyril; sisters: Julia, Mary Ann and Bridget; grandson, Glen Power; great grandson, Kyle Snelgrove. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories: son, Mark Walsh; daughters: Gertie (Stan) Walsh, Marina (David) Power, all of Bay de Verde, and Margaret Rice of Lower Island Cove; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and a large number of extended relatives and friends. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of the Interfaith Citizen's Home for their care and compassion. Visitation Friday, January 31, 2014, 2:00pm. to 10:00pm. Saturday, February 1, 2014, 10:00am. to 10:00pm. at Hopkins' Funeral Home. Visitation to continue on Sunday, February 2, 2014, 2:00pm. to 9:00pm. at the Assumption Parish Roman Catholic Church, Bay de Verde. Funeral service to take place on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11:00am. from Assumption Parish Roman Catholic Church, Bay de Verde. Interment to follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bay de Verde. To us she was the essence of grace and strength and the epitome of what it meant to be Mom and a Nana. She will be sadly missed and forever loved.
