Florence Matthews

Passed peacefully away on April 20, 2013, at the Dr. A. A. Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre, Old Perlican, Florence May Matthews, formerly of Brownsdale, age 84 years. Predeceased by her husband, Llewellyn; parents, Walter and Florence Thomas; sisters, Emily Jane and Loretta; and son-in-law, Garfield. Leaving to mourn, three sons: Walter (Effie), New Chelsea, Freeman and Tony, both of St. John's; three daughters: Daphne, Old Perlican, Louise (Kenneth), Sibley's Cove, and Velma (Donnie), Gull Island; two sisters, Greta (Otto), Brownsdale and Ruby, Job's Cove; sister-in-law, Eileen (Tom) Noel, Bridgeport; brother-in-law, Raymond Mercer, St. John's; thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; as well as a large circle of family and friends. Visitation Monday, April 22, 2013, 10:00am. to 10:00pm., and Tuesday, April 23, 2013, 10:00am. to 10:00pm. Funeral service to be held Wednesday, April 24, 2013 @ 1:00pm. from Hopkins' Funeral Home Chapel. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made in Florence's memory to the Brownsdale United Church Memorial Fund or to a charity of one's choice.
