David Norman Riggs

Died suddenly as a result of a tragic boating accident, David Riggs, aged 49 years of Brownsdale, Trinity Bay. David was an avid outdoorsman who loved and lived life fully. He embraced each season with zest, loving the life of hunter, fisher, camper, making many friends and memories in the process. His professional life as well afforded him the luxury of doing what he loved, driving trucks. His first love though was his family and the friends who became family to him. He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife, Sherri (nee Hindy); son, Brian Coates; daughters: Laura (Shawn) Delaney, and Courtney Coates (Chris Thorne); grandchildren: Noah, Ciarra, Christopher, and Zachary. He leaves also to mourn, his parents, Melvin and Ruby; sisters: Valerie (Junior) Piercey and Cheryl (Eddie) Noonan; Aunt Annie Hopkins; mother-in-law, Beatrice Hindy; sister-in-law, Lori Hindy; his neices and nephews and a large circle of family and friends. In his life David became known to many and his presence will be missed. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 19, from 7:00pm. until 10:00pm. Friday, May 20, from 10:00am until 10:00pm. and on Saturday, May 21, from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Funeral service from Brownsdale United Church on Saturday, May 21 @ 2:00pm. Interment to follow at the Brownsdale United Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made in his memory to The David Riggs Memorial Fund. "Forever in our hearts."
