Priscilla Sparkes
1919-2010
Passed peacefully away at The Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear, on
Friday, October 22, 2010 in her 91st. year, Priscilla Sparkes of
Sibley's Cove.
Priscilla was born to Levi and Dora Button of Lead Cove on October 6, 1919. She was the second of four children.
She maried the love of her life, Peter on July 9, 1937 and their lives were enriched by their two children, Gladys and Lewis.
Priscilla and Peter were also blessed with three grandchildren, Darrell, Joy and Vanessa and four great grandchildren, Alana, Colin, Nathan and Blake.
In addition to being a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Priscilla loved her church as evidenced by her lay reading and tireless involvement in the church choir and UCW.
She leaves to mourn her daughter, Gladys (Warren) and her son, Lewis (Carolann); grandchildren: Darrell (Mary), Joy (Rod), and Vanessa (Rob); great grandchildren: Alana, Colin, Nathan and Blake;
her sister, Eva, residing at St. Luke's Home; her sister-in-law, Evangeline; and a large number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation to take place Sunday, October 24 from 2:00pm. ~ 9:00pm. at Hopkins' Funeral Home. Visitation to continue on Monday, October 25 from 10:00am ~ 12:00pm. at Bethel United Church, Sibley's Cove from where the funeral service will take place @ 2:00pm. Interment to follow in The United Church Cemetery, Sibley's Cove.
As an expression of sympathy donations may be made in her memory to Bethel United Church, Sibley's Cove.
