Allan Thorne

Passed peacefully away at the Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre, Old Perlican on Thursday, December 4, 2008, Allan S. Thorne of Brownsdale, aged 78 years. Retired teacher and member of White Lily R.B.P #1201 and Gushue L.O.L #226. Predeceased by parents, William and Eva, brother Bill and infant sister. Leaving to mourn: wife, Ellen; two sons: Allan (Lola), Fort McMurray, AB and Malcolm (Jennifer), Portage La Prairie, MB; daughter, Susanne (Shawn) Harris, Paradise; two grandchildren: Christopher and Brendan, Fort McMurray, AB; brother, Chester (Evelyn), Brownsdale; sister-in-law, Norma Thorne, St. John's; mother-in-law, Mildred Brown, Musgravetown; sisters-in-law: Shirley Hall, Musgravetown, Elizabeth (Edward) Svendsen, BC and Rowena Brown, Musgravetown; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rested at Hopkins Funeral Home, Old Perlican. The Funeral Service took place on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church and Cemetery, Brownsdale with Rev. Brian Hannon officiating. As an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Brownsdale United Church Memorial Fund, General Delivery, Brownsdale, NL.
