It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of
our loved one, Hubert Silas Howell, of Old Perlican, on November 18,
2023, aged 79 years.
Predeceased by baby daughter, Alice; parents, Nelson and Annie Howell; infant brother, Cyril; and brother, Frank.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, of sixty years, Beatrice; daughters, Bonnie (Mel) and Carolyn (Geoff);
grandchildren: Joe (Melinda), Becky (Darrin) and Pamela (Chris and his children);
great grandchildren: Bailee, Logan, Leah and Liam and Trinity;
brother, Byron (Ruth); sisters: Marie (Jim), Linda and Marilyn (Eddie);
brothers-in-law: Don (Ina), Silas (Carol) and Roy (Suzette); sisters-in-law: Dale (Nelson), Emily, Eileen (Cal) and Mary;
like a daughter, Cindy (Jim) and their children, Morgan and Anna Kate who affectionately called him pop Hughie;
nephew, Jason who was like a son; nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family; as well as a large circle of friends.
The family would like to thank his home care workers, Nita, Laurie and Geoff for their excellent care and compassion over the past several months. Your continued love and support was and always will be appreciated by all of us. Special thanks to Dr. Holloway and our wonderful Public Health nurses for all your help during his short battle with cancer.
As per Hughie's wishes cremation has taken place.
Visitation at Hopkins' Funeral Home, Old Perlican on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 for family only.
Public visitation on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 2:00 pm. to 4:00 pm. and 7:00 pm. to 9:00 pm.
Funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at 2:00 pm. from St. Andrew's By The Sea United Church, Old Perlican.
Again, as per Hughie's wishes, interment will take place at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or a donation may be made in Hughie's memory to St. Andrew's By The Sea United Church, Old Perlican.
