Douglas Bursey
It is with profound sadness that the family of Douglas Bursey announce his passing on October 12, 2023 at the Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre, Old Perlican, aged 89 years.

Predeceased by his parents, Augustus and Evelyn Bursey; his sons, Keith (1988) and Carl (2010); and son-in-law, Lester Sparkes (2022).

Douglas was a dedicated member of various organizations and associations. He was a Past Master of Cabot L.O.L. 49, Past President of the Black Lodge, Past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge, and secretary of the Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Canadian Legion. Over his life time he was also very committed to his church serving on the Board of Management and as a treasurer. He enjoyed his time as a member of the Men's Fellowship and took great delight in being a member of the choir.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kay (nee Cahill); children: Rick (Dolores), Joanne, Jill (Dave), Terry (Tanus), Tina, Craig (Sonya); a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Frances and Eleanor (Ed); very special neighbours and friends, Bob and Sheryl Bursey and Scott and Melissa Bursey; nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as further extended family and circle of friends.

Visitation to take place at Hopkins' Funeral Home, Old Perlican on Friday, October 13, 2023 2:00 to 4:00 pm. and 7:00 pm. to 9:00 pm.
and on Saturday, October 14, 2023 2:00 pm. to 4:00 pm. and 7:00 pm. to 9:00 pm.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm. on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at St. Andrew's By The Sea United Church, Old Perlican.
Interment to follow in the United Church Cemetery, Old Perlican.

As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Andrew's By The Sea United Church, Old Perlican in Douglas' memory.
