Robert Rice
1948-2022
Robert Rice, aged 74 years, of Red Head Cove, passed away in the
comfort of his home, surrounded by his family, on September 25,
2022.
Robert is predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Charlotte; brothers, Edmund and Brendan; and sister, Mary.
Leaving to mourn his wife, Marie, of 47 years; sons, Bobby (Kerrie) and Jack (Jenna); daughter, Stephanie;
brother, Joseph (Margaret); sister, Helen (Billy, deceased); sister-in-law, Margaret (Brendan, deceased);
grandchildren: Markus, Jacob, Landan, Logan, Willow, Grayson and Dawson;
and a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Robert was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a fisherman who loved the sea. He was strong, patient, adventurous and a dare devil at heart. He loved tinkering in his garage. He was a "Mr. Fix It" who could build and fix most anything and he was generous with these talents, always willing to help a friend or neighbour.
The family would like to thank all those family and friends who showed support and helped in so many ways. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre, Old Perlican and on the 6th floor at the Carbonear General Hospital, Carbonear.
A special thank you to nurse, Crystal Lyons at Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre, Old Perlican, whose compassion and professionalism helped us through the hardest last days.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation at Hopkins' Funeral Home, Old Perlican on Thursday, September 29, 2022, 2:00 pm. to 4:00 pm. and 6:00 pm. to 9:00 pm.
Funeral service to take place on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11:00 am. from Assumption Parish Roman Catholic Church, Bay de Verde.
Interment to follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bay de Verde.
