E. Wilfred Riggs

Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family at the Carbonear General Hospital, Carbonear,
on what would have been his 66th wedding anniversary, March 20, 2022, Edgar Wilfred Riggs of Bay de Verde, aged 90 years.
Predeceased by his wife, Eleanor Riggs (Dot); parents, Moses and Leah Riggs; parents in law, Will John and Martha Thorne;
brothers, William Riggs and Leslie Riggs; sisters: Mary Jane (Roy) Fanjoy, Alice Henderson, and Ruby Riggs;
brother in law, Ambrose (Matilda) Thorne; sisters in law: Jane (Wallace) Benson, Annie May (Samuel) Gillingham, and Fannie (Albert) Fagner.
Leaving to mourn, daughters: Alice Riggs, Janice Riggs, and Judy (Louis) Keats; sons, Roy (Dianne) Riggs and Jeffery (Wanda) Riggs;
grandchildren: Blair (Jessica) Keats, Amanda Keats (Travis), Jamie Hogan (Keshia), Kyle Riggs, and Jarod Riggs (Kai);
great grandchildren: Leah Keats, Paige and Chase Keats, Jersey and Jace Hogan, and River Riggs;
step-grandchildren: Jayden, Jake and Rylan Glover and Hayden Pike;
brother, Melvin (Ruby) Riggs; sisters in law, Ruth Riggs and Gertie (Thomas, deceased) Gillingham;
along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Special thank you to the nursing staff at CGH 6th floor for your kindness and compassion which could not be surpassed. You made dad's short stay so very comfortable for both him and the family.
Visitation at Hopkins' Funeral Home, Old Perlican, Wednesday, March 23, 2022, 10:00 am. to 12:00 pm., 2:00 pm. to 5:00 pm., 7:00 pm. to 9:00 pm. and Thursday, March 24, 2022, 10:00 am. to 12:00 pm.
Funeral service to take place on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 2:00 pm. from St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Bay de Verde. Interment to follow.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or a donation may be made in Wilfred's memory to St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Bay de Verde.
As per the family's request visitors are asked to please wear a mask.
