Calvin Blundon
Calvin Boyd Blundon of Bay de Verde passed peacefully away after a short battle with cancer at the Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre, Old Perlican on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the age of 68 years.
Predeceased by his son, Kurtis Blundon; parents, Albert and Alice Blundon; brother, Harry Blundon; sisters, Ena Emberley and Norma Noel;
brothers-in-law: Alec Cowan, Mervyn Emberley, Clyde Noel, William Sutton and Peter Bursey; and parents-in-law, Levi George and Annie Norris.
Leaving to mourn his wife of 48 years, Dianne; daughter, Heidi (Linus Hyde); grandchildren Ian, Andrew, Summer and Kaylee;
daughter-in-law, April Blundon; brother, Randy Blundon (Lillian);
sisters: Florence Cowan, Carmie Roy, Ellie Sutton, Anna Bursey, Yvonne Lambert (Paul), Patsy Coulombe (Pierre);
sister-in-law, Alma Blundon; brothers-in-law, Calvin Norris (Maureen) and Junior Norris (Wendy);
sisters-in-law: Lorraine George (Frazer), Beckie Lambert (Don) and Mary Reynolds (Wayne);
as well as a number of nieces and nephews and a very large circle of family and friends.
Cal was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was loved by all who knew him. He is well known for his love of his work at Quinlan Brothers where he worked since he was twelve years old. He loved the outdoors, spending time at his cabin, going for rides on his bike and trouting. He loved a good ol' game of darts and was always there for a laugh. He was a lover of animals, especially his three cats.
A special thankyou to Dr. Nel and Dr. Holloway and the staff of Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre, Old Perlican for all your care and compassion for our loved one during his short illness.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation at Hopkins' Funeral Home, Old Perlican on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, 2:00 pm. to 4:00 pm. and 7:00 pm. to 9:00 pm. in keeping with COVID restrictions and protocol.
NLVaxPass/ID required for entry. Entry restricted to one car/bubble at a time as per modified Alert Level 4 restrictions.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will take place on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Bay de Verde.
Sadly because of modified Alert Level 4 restrictions regarding capacity limitations being the lesser of 25% capacity or fifty people, this will be by invitation only.
NLVaxPass required for those attending. Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Bay de Verde.
