It is with sad hearts that the family of the Late Lawrence Walsh of Bay de Verde say goodbye to one of the best: husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Lawrence was a fisherman all of his life until the cod moratorium took this away. He was born in 1933 the son of Joe and Rose (Doyle) Walsh.
He is predeceased by his parents, Joe and Rose Walsh; his son, Eugene; brother, Mike; sister, Francis Edmunds and brother in law, James Edmunds; sister, Doreen Noonan (Tom);
sister in law, Theresa Walsh; uncle Elias and aunt Kitty Walsh; niece, Maxine Mowat Cato (Fradi); niece, Sharon Preston; nephew, James Edmunds and his grandson in law, Kurtis Blundon.
Left to mourn, his wife of 64 years, Mary Elizabeth; daughters: Christine (Pat), Philomena (Craig), Madonna (Steve) and Paula (Kirk); sons, Colin (Judy) and Wayne;
grandchildren: Juanita, Bradley, Patrick, Sheila, Pamela, April, Stephen, Valda, Erica, David, Colin, Gavin, Laura, Jimmy, Mike, David, and Brittany;
numerous great grandchildren; brothers: Bernard (Ann), Neil (Molly), Philip (Sherrie) and Cyril; sisters, Sheila (Pete) and Gennie (Max, deceased); and a great circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Following COVID 19 restrictions and protocol visitation will take place at Hopkins' Funeral Home, Old Perlican on Monday, July 5, 2021 2:00 pm. to 4:00 pm. and 7:00 pm. to 9:00pm. Funeral service Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at the Roman Catholic Church, Bay de Verde by invitation only.
