Clifford Barter

Passed peacefully away at his residence in Bay de Verde, NL on November 17, 2018, Clifford Barter, aged 94 years. Predeceased by his wife, Viola (2015); parents, Hubert and Susanna Barter; brothers: John (infant), James, Donald, Maxwell and Robert; and sister, Doris Smith. Left to mourn, remember and celebrate his long life are: daughter, Sandra (Eugene) Lewis; sons, Eric (Judi) and Roy; sister, Evelyn (Clarence) Tuck; sister in law, Joyce Barter; grandchildren: James (Shariah) Barter, Mark (Valerie) Barter, Andrea (Michael) Samson and Amanda Lewis (Eric St-Amand); great grandchildren: Todd Samson, William Barter, Emma St-Amand and Louis Samson. Also remembering "Uncle Cliff" are nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Clifford was born and spent his entire life in his beloved Bay de Verde. He was a successful fisherman, boat builder and hobby gardener. He was happiest puttering in the garden watching vegetables grow and sitting "on the bank" chatting with towns folk and visitors. He could spend hours watching the boats and activity in the harbour. Cremation has taken place. Visitation to take place at Hopkins' Funeral Home, Old Perlican on Friday, November 23, 2018 2:00 pm. to 4:00 pm. and 7:00 pm. to 9:00 pm. and Saturday, November 24, 2018 10:00 am. to 12:00 pm. Funeral service to take place Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 2:00 pm. from St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Bay de Verde. Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Bay de Verde. As an expression of sympathy, if one so wishes, donations may be made in Clifford's memory to St. Barnabas Anglican Church or to the Bay de Verde Volunteer Fire Department.
