Otto Harris

1929-2015

Passed peacefully away on December 16, 2015, at the Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre, Old Perlican, surrounded by his loving family, Otto Earl Harris of Brownsdale, aged 85 years. Predeceased by his grandson, Brandon Harris (December 17, 2014); parents, Eli and Winifred Harris; brothers, Gil and Hubert. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Greta; daughters, Emily Bird (Sam), Edmonton, AB and Carol Ash (Eldred), Hant's Harbour; sons: Randy (Doreen), Coley's Point, Ted (Zelda), St. John's, Kevin (Karen), CBS, Darren (Colleen), Sibley's Cove and Shawn (Susanne), Paradise; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren: Jonathan Bird (Alyson and their children, Jacey and Neely), Matthew Bird (Caitlin), Lisa Green (Rodney and their children, Riley and Adrian), Curtis Ash (Brenda), Todd Harris (Andrea and their daughter, Brook), Trevor Harris (Nadine), Ashley D'Amico (Dennis and their son, Sam), Travis Harris, Blair Harris and Benjamin Harris; brother, Gord (Shirley), Heart's Content; sisters, Beulah Squires (John), Carbonear and Arlene Belbin, Grand Falls Windsor; sister-in-law, Mae Harris, New Chelsea; many nieces and nephews who adored Uncle Ot as well as an extended circle of family and friends. Resting at Hopkins' Funeral Home, Old Perlican with visitation on Friday, December 18, 2015, 2:00pm. to 9:00pm. and Saturday, December 19, 2015, 10:00am. to 9:00pm. Funeral service originally scheduled to take place on Sunday, December 20, 2015 will now take place on Monday, December 21, 2015 @ 2:00pm. from Brownsdale United Church, Brownsdale. Interment to follow in the United Church Cemetery, Brownsdale. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy donations may be made in Otto's memory to the Brownsdale United Church Memorial Fund. A very special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at the Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre for their exceptional care and compassion during Dad's final days.
